Doctoral Thesis Opportunities with MSU

We are offering three time models for (part-time) doctoral candidates:

Model A (weekly rhythm)

Our doctoral thesis model A consists of the following weekly distribution: 3 days of consultation consulting and 2 days of doctoral thesis work.

This model is suitable for candidates pursuing their doctoral thesis studies expeditiously, while maintaining their intensive integration in consulting projects. Moreover, this model is suitable for candidates who have written the major parts of their thesis and are planning to enter into the consulting industry during the completion phase. For this purpose, the employee is provided with 2 business days for working on the thesis. The complete duration for the doctoral thesis project will be agreed separately for each case.

Model B (quarterly rhythm)

The doctoral thesis model B is divided as follows: 3 – 4 months of consulting work alternating with 3 – 4 months of doctoral thesis studies. This model provides the employee with an extended time per year to work on the thesis. At an alternating cycle of 3 – 4 months, you will work as a consultant or focus on expediting your scientific work. This allows you to focus intensively on completing your thesis, while obtaining new impulses through value-added interim phases. An individual time frame can be agreed analogous to model A.

Model C (3 year cycle)

The doctoral thesis model C consists of three different annual distributions:

• Year 1:
  9 months of consulting work
  3 months of doctoral thesis work
   
• Year 2:
  1/2 year of consulting work
  1/2 year of doctoral thesis work
   
• Year 3:
  3 months of consulting work
  9 months of doctoral thesis work

Model C is based on a time slot pattern of 3 years. While you will be involved mainly in the daily consulting business and working on your thesis for 3 months during the first year, you will be provided with 6 months to work on your doctoral thesis studies during the second year. Finally, for the consequent completion of your thesis, you will be released from work for 9 months during the final phase.
